GENESIS 10:8-10 (KJV)

8And Kush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9He was a mighty hunter before YHVH: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before YHVH. 10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erek, and Akkad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

GENESIS 11:1-9 (KJV)

1And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5And YHVH came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6And YHVH said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. 8So YHVH scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because YHVH did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did YHVH scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

GENESIS 14:1-16 (KJV)

1And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedarlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; 2That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboyim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. 3All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea. 4Twelve years they served Kedarlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. 5And in the fourteenth year came Kedarlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaim in Ashterot Qarnayim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Qiryat Ayim, 6And the Hori in their mount Seir, unto Eyl Paran, which is by the wilderness. 7And they returned, and came to Eyn Mishpat, which is Qadesh, and smote all the country of the Amaleqi, and also the Amori, that dwelt in Hatzetzon Tamar. 8And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboyim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; 9With Kedarlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five. 10And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. 11And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. 12And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. 13And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amori, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. 14And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. 15And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damaseq. 16And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
